Chapter 19 • Guide 20 of 31
Website email accounts
The website Email tab manages the mail domain linked to that website after the native mail stack is installed.
Mailboxes
Create mailboxes with an address, password, and storage quota. Mailboxes are virtual mail users and are not Linux login accounts. Available actions include changing the password or quota, enabling a vacation response, reviewing usage, opening webmail, and removing authentication while retaining mailbox data for recovery.
Aliases and forwarding
Create aliases that forward to one or more internal or external destinations. Up to 100 destinations are supported. Use * as the local part to create a catch-all. External forwarding uses sender rewriting and ARC to improve SPF and DMARC reliability.
Client settings
Core Panel displays the secure IMAP and SMTP connection information for mailbox users. SMTP authentication requires TLS on ports 465 or 587; IMAP requires TLS on port 993. SOGo installations also expose CalDAV and CardDAV endpoints.
DNS and delivery status
The page displays required mail records and delivery health. PTR/reverse DNS is configured at the server provider, not inside the forward DNS zone. A single public sending IP normally uses one canonical mail hostname and PTR, while every hosted domain maintains its own SPF, DKIM, and DMARC policy.
